Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

This is the recipe for oatmeal cookies, re: the Nearly Forgotten Oatmeal Cookie blog post. :)

The cookies are soft to chewy, not crunchy.

1C butter flavored crisco (I subbed with 1/2 C butter and 1/2 C canola oil)

1 C sugar

1 C brown sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

3 Tbsp. milk

2C flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

2 c. quick oats (I used the type of oats that you normally boil/cook)

1 C chopped nuts

Add first 6 ingredients together. Mix in next 4 ingredients and fold in oats and chopped nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Thanks Mary. I'm no baker extraordinaire, but I'm tempted to make these for Larry.

Congratulations on your yet to be posted Butterfly Award. I know you're busy and wasn't even sure if that was something you wanted on your blog - but I thought you deserved it. Anyone who works as hard as you do AND commits to posting on their blog every day (let alone that the posts are interesting and wonderful) needs a butterfly in their corner. Enjoy the recognition. Email me if you need assistance for anything.

Yummy but we hardly ever have cookies around here!

Thank you, Alix. I do appreciate the recognition. I enjoy so many blogs, the most difficult thing for me is selecting 10. I see you did not select 10 right off the bat either, so I may throw some names in a basket and pull some out. There are a lot of nice blogs (short ones, long ones, some with mainly pictures, some with a lot of words), and there is time involved by the blog writer regardless, a lot of work! So, I am thinking about what the basis of me choosing someone for recognition will be before I select.

Oatmeal cookies! I call them 'breakfast ' ! Oatmeal cookies and hot coffee are a delicious way to start the morning, or oatmeal cookies and milk to end the day!
