Fighting For First Place

Sometimes it is next to impossible to get one single photo of a goat. Today is a beautiful sunny day, a perfect photo day. But as soon as one of the crew sees me, one will sound the alarm. There she is, let's go!!! Goofy, aren't they?

These are some of my babies from last February. Growing up. I always dislike their spring coats. They start losing that winter fluffiness, and begin looking a little scraggly for a few weeks, until they are completely down to the smooth shorter spring/summer coat.

We had a rough night. The husband's gall bladder did a flare up. So, I trekked to the grocery for plenty of low and non-fat foods and then I worked in the office.

Today, Spike helped (Tyra's boy).

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's problem, a bad night sleep for our spouses is also a bad night sleep for us, isn't it?

I know what you mean about the goat coats in spring. The birds around here love the shedding though, I keep finding little gathered bunches of goat hairs by the bird feeders. I think some of the birds get distracted by the feeders and grab a snack on their way back to nest building. Once in awhile I find bird's nests with goat hairs, or wool in them/

Spike is majestic in appearance...

So sorry to hear Bob is having problems with his gall bladder again. I had mine removed (big family history of this problem)when I started having problems. There is no way I could deal with that kind of pain. Having been there my heart really goes out to anyone dealing with that! I hope he is feeling better soon.

I know what you mean about the spring hair, all my goats look scraggly right now. Spike sure is a handsome helper!

Sorry to hear about Bob's problem! Goats are funny creatures, some of our goats do the same thing and some of them pose for me perfectly on their rocks!

Gall bladder troubles don't sound fun at all.

Yes, we can't make a move around here without BAAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAA and the volume goes up everyday.

POOR BOB! Gallbladder issues can be the worst. I've been lucky not to have experienced it myself, but both my mom and older sister had to have theirs out.

Listen. Your goats are so adorable I can hardly stand it. The picture you posted reminded me of my recent trip to Dallas and how when we went for our daily walk to feed the sheep at Fran's farm, they would literally climb all over each other to get to the bread first. Sheep on top of sheep. It was very comical.

I love the sweet faces of all your goats, so keep the pictures coming please.

Oh, and tell Bob I hope he feels better soon.

Thank you, the gall bladder needs to be removed. For now, diet has to control it. He seemed better last night, however, it takes days to regain strength once it flairs up for a night.

Talking about bunches of goat hairs. It brings to me thoughts of fences decorated with goat hairs. You can see where they rub to get the hair off. Hair everywhere...as you know! I loved your story about the birds, Kathy.
