Goat Milk Soap Giveaway

If you can answer a few quick questions, I want to send a bar of soap to you, your choice! And if I receive enough comments, I will send a bar of soap to two people (randomly chosen).

If you were shopping for handcrafted goat milk soap today, in what order would the following be of importance to you: price, color, size, scent, other (please define)?

Is all natural, or nearly all natural, important to you?

Which type of scents do you prefer (floral, woodsy/earthy, fruity, etc...)? Or, name a few scents/types if you can!

This is a survey, of sorts, but I also want to thank my commenters. I follow every post, and each reciprocated word is appreciated!

Scent, color, size, price.
Yes, as close to natural as possible.
Lavender/vanilla is my favorite scent. Would that be floral or woodsy/earthy?

Order of importance:
1)Quality
2)Price
3)Scent
4)Size
5)Color

Nearly all natural is good enough for me, but all natural rocks.

Prefer floral, woodsy/grassy, and citrusy fragrances. Unscented on occasion.

PS: You can add a fun little survey/poll gadget to your blog and collect data that way for whatever span of time you want. Let me know if you're interested in adding it and I'll walk you through the steps.

1. Scent

3. Size
4. Price

All Natural is most important.

Love Rose, but also like woodsy/earthy. Also, citrus.

I'm not a fufu girl! LOL

3. woodsy/earthy, for sure!

I love goat milk soap! I have a little one with sensitive skin and it's always nice to have something to use on him that's nearly all natural.

1. Quality
2. Price with Size
3. Scent (citrus, my favorite)
4. Natural with Color not a real decider for me.

If I try it the first time and like the texture, I am hooked regardless of all of above!!

I just found your blog. I LOVE goat milk soap and have been looking for just the right scent! So, to answer your questions:

1. Scent! I'm craving cinnamon/clove or orange/clove. I guess I like CLOVE! ;-)

2. nearly natural is fine

3. Yummy, spicy.

Of course, the quality matters no matter how good the scent or lovely the color...

I'd say price, size, (price per ounce), scent, color. I don't really care what color it is or if it even has color. I'd go for nearly all natural, but doesn't have to be all natural. I haven't tried many scents yet, but I'm leaning toward vanilla type scents.

1) Scent, quality, price, size, colour.

2) All natural is important to me.

3) I restrict myself to essential oil scents (or unscented) because fragrance oils often give me migraines. Within that, my favourites are usually herbal and citrus scents.

1) Probably scent, 2)size 3)color 4)price as long as it isn't totally unreasonable :D If it is a great bar of soap, it is worth the price! Sorry, that's coming from a fellow soap maker. I know the hard work and ingredients that it takes to make great bars of soap and I feel most soapers sadly underprice their product.

2) Is all natural, or nearly all natural, important to you? Yes, natural is important, but I'm not adverse to fragrance oils vs. essential oils. Tend to be a touch sensitive to artificial colors and don't like ingredients to increase suds and lather but also irritate the skin.

3) Which type of scents do you prefer (floral, woodsy/earthy, fruity, etc...)? Or, name a few scents/types if you can!
I'm personally partial to florals and "food" fragrances, especially chocolate and citrus. But, ya know, it all depends on my mood. There are times when I want nothing but a fresh, minty fragrance too! Although popular, lavender is NOT one of my more favorite fragrances.

I've only made soap with goats milk one time, using milk from goats raised by a neighbor. She doesn't have goats currently and I refuse to purchase commercial goats milk, so haven't made any since. Goats milk soap is a real delight and hard to get here locally from local soapers unless they purchase commercial goats milk, including me, for lack of local goats milk from local goat "growers". What do you call yourself? A goat grower vs a goat raiser... please, inquiring minds want to know! :D

I am excited, these are great comments, great participation! I am not going to publish a new post until Sutnday evening. Then I am going to show you the bars of soap I cut this morning. They smell wonderful and the colors are beautiful.

Hi,
Lurker here... enjoy reading your blog!

1)
Price and size go hand in hand.
Scent and color go hand in hand as well.

2) All natural is great! And would have more selling "power," I would think.

3) Woodsy and earthy. Oatmeal? Vanilla is a good thing too.

Boy, the questions are good ones. When I check out the soaps at bazaars and Farmer's Markets, scent is #1, with size and price coming in at #2 together...I hope the size merits the price...maybe I just assume a goat milk soap will be natural. Color is not important, because I think all natural soaps look good in the soap dish that will go with my bathroom decor, but I also like colored soaps with the right scent and size and price!

Packaging is one of those things that often help me make up my mind to buy the soap. I'm sorry, I am a little superficial about that sometimes, but often I give soaps as a gift, and will tie a ribbon around the packaged soap and tuck a sprig of lavender, rosemary, or thyme in it.

Hope that helps!

Again, great discussion. All are appreciated.

Kathy, no "sorry," to it! One day next week there is on the schedule a packaging discussion. Your comments are right on time and will be a part of the introduction.

I was going to say color first but if the price is too high, I won't look any longer so...
1. price, color, size
2. either is very important
3. citrusy

Shopping on the internet:

1. color
2. scent
3. price/size

Shopping at a fair or store:
1. scent
2. color
3. price/size

Also, if I'm buying for a gift, the packaging matters, but if I'm buying for myself, packing doesn't matter much.

Nearly natural is important, but I'm not that concerned between "natural" and "nearly natural".

Favorite scents:
1. mint/eucaplyptus
2. citrus
3. vanilla/florals

Annie,
Thank you for stopping by my blog, your blog is very interesting and I love shower gels so on the soap I definitely look at price since I try to be frugal...color is important to me, I love color but if something is good I will most certainly buy it.
Natural products....I like that too.

I'm a late getting in on this one but color & scent are the most important to me. I like fruity scents.
